For facilitiesSHA
Your operating licence
The licence that lets you open. It comes after an inspection, and it depends on approvals from bodies the health authority does not control - waste management, emergency planning, building completion, radiation. Those are what delay openings, and they are what we start early.
What we do for you
- Walk your facility against the inspection checklist before the inspectors do
- Start the outside approvals - waste, emergency plan, building, radiation - during your fit-out, not at the end
- Register your medical director and make sure the appointment holds up
- Attend the inspection with you and close any findings fast
What you will need
- Stamped layout
- Waste management registration (WEQAYA)
- Trade licence
- Medical director registration form
- Building completion certificate
- Emergency Operation Plan approval
- FANR licence, if you are using radiation
- Equipment list
How it runs
- 1The application is opened from the facility account
- 2The form is completed and documents uploaded
- 3The technical inspection is scheduled
- 4The authority team inspects the facility
- 5Fees are paid
- 6The licence is issued
Authority fees
The authority sets these by facility type and does not publish one figure. We quote you the exact amount for your case.
These are the authority’s fees, paid to them. Our fee is quoted for your case once we have seen the file.
Questions we get asked
- Why do openings get delayed?
- Almost never the health authority itself - its own turnaround is short. It is the paperwork that comes from other bodies: waste management registration, emergency plan approval, building completion, and radiation licensing if you have imaging. Each runs on its own clock. Started at inspection stage they become your timeline; started during fit-out you barely notice them.
- Do you handle those outside approvals too?
- Yes - that is most of the value. Your licence file is only as fast as the slowest approval in it, so we run them in parallel rather than one after another.
